The First Date…
“Shall we go out for lunch?” he proposed, after asking me to meet with him a few times before. Finally…I dropped my guard and said, “Yes!”. We agreed on a meeting place where he would pick me up, then we would drive to the restaurant together… the restaurant which would later become our family favourite, and was so very special to us.
I had only laid eyes on my soulmate once before… the night we met where we fell in love. That night I was confident and bold, with an air of the “Ice Queen” to protect my heart. Our first date however, was a totally different story! My heart was beating a million miles an hour, and my soul was dancing with fluttery butterflies. The palms of my hands were sweating, I was nervous… but filled with excitement and pure joy.
On the way to the restaurant I was longing to touch him, to hold his hand. Our energies were magnetised to one another. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated at a beautiful table for two, overlooking the water. My soulmate initially sat across from me, then moved next to me… my heart almost exploding out of my body! He presented me with a beautiful gift of a sweet smelling candle, then moved back to his seat across from me.
It came time to order our food…the menu was exquisite, yet I suddenly became speechless and unable to get any words out. The energy between us was electric, and had me feeling like my spirit was leaping from my body! Who was this man, and what was happening to me?
I managed to utter a few words out, stuttering through the entire sentence! We giggled… and still giggle about it to this day! He then kindly offered to order for me, to which at that time I was very grateful and relieved! To this day I still remember exactly what he ordered for me on our first date…the “Patagonian tooth fish,” a rare (and delightful) dish I had never tried before, which turns out was quite an exotic choice and one that the restaurant would not be able to get back in again… lucky me I got to experience this culinary delight!
The afternoon was spent chatting (through my stutter-rap), laughing and learning about each other. The bond between us was cemented together as our souls entwined into one another.
